James 1:19-20
You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger; FOR your anger DOES NOT produce God's righteousness.
A match stick has a head, but not a brain and so it can only burn. ARE WE NOT DIFFERENT, OR ARE WE SIMILAR?
Mt 5:22-24
I say to you that if you are ANGRY with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgement; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, “You fool”, you will be liable to the HELL of fire.
The key to anger reduction is KNOWING YOURSELF. When you make mistakes, LEARN FROM THEM rather than getting angry. You get angry when your desire is not fulfilled. Consider God.. when His desire is not fulfilled by you!
Eph 4: 31-32
Put away from you ALL bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, AND BE kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Make common sense your best friend to reduce your anger and the anger of OTHERS.
Expectation breeds frustration and frustration breeds anger. Lower your standards to make you less angry. Don't revel in obsessive compulsions.
Have a great day in the Lord!
Prov 14:29-30
Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but one who has a hasty temper exalts folly. A tranquil mind gives life to the flesh, but passion makes the bones rot.
Reject what you cannot change and change only what you cannot reject. Apologise at the right moment to reduce anger. For every 10 minutes of anger we lose 600 seconds of joy! More importantly, we also lose our healing! Sirach 28:3.
Psalm 37:8
Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath. Do not fret—IT LEADS ONLY TO EVIL.
Jonah 4:4
The Lord said, "Is it right for YOU to be angry?"
Nobody can make you angry WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. So it's in your hands! It's your choice.
Sirach 15:11-20
You cannot change others AS EASILY AS YOU CAN CHANGE YOURSELF!
Be the CHANGE that God desires!
Prov 19:11
Those with good sense are slow to anger, and it is their glory to OVERLOOK an offence.
Inability to take right decisions is one reason for anger. Right decisions are prompted by the Holy Spirit. Jn 16:13... Disgracing oneself is another reason.. getting angry is one way of covering up your act. Accept mistakes and keep moving ahead. Never go to bed with an argument unsettled. It generates illness. Eph 4:25-27; Ps 107:17
Prov 15:1-2..
A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise dispenses knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.
We will be less angry when we are well-planned and when we think ahead.. we can avoid anger by taking pro-active actions rather than reactive actions.
Organize your mind - the clutter, and your work - the mess, FREQUENTLY (frequently, frequently...)
"Why are you angry?... if you do WELL, will you not be acceptable?..." (Gen 4:6-7). The WOG in Jer 4:14 and 1Pet 4:1-3 will set us thinking... CAN WE LET GO AND LET IN?
Eccl 7:9..
Do not be quick to anger, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools.
I shall not allow anyone to belittle my soul by making me to hate him and be angry.
Bitterness is like cancer. It slowly but surely eats upon the owner. But anger is like fire. It can burn the person completely all at once. Let us consider Prov 10:12
Sirach 28:7-8
Remember the commandments, and do not be angry with your neighbour; remember the covenant of the Most High, and overlook faults.Refrain from strife, and your sins will be fewer;for the hot-tempered kindle strife..
Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured. Remember, you will not be punished FOR your anger, but you will be punished BY your anger; and every time you get angry, you poison your own system.
Prov 22:24-25..
Make no friends with those given to anger, and do not associate with hotheads, or you may learn their ways and entangle yourself in a snare.
Beware of such snares. Getting angry and braying, is like praying to the devil. The best remedy for SHORT temper is a LONG walk away from the scene. If a small thing has the power to make you angry, does that not indicate your size? And remember, whatever is begun in anger, ends up in shame.
