That is why he (the priest) has to offer sacrifices (Eucharistic celebration) for his own sins, as well as FOR THE SINS OF THE PEOPLE. 2 Samuel 12:13.. Then David said to Nathan "I have sinned" against the Lord." Nathan replied "The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die..."
These are the similar words when a confession is made to a priest. The sins of David are FIRST thoroughly discussed between these TWO MEN in 12:7-10 (read 12:1 onwards..). David tells a MAN..Finally, Nathan, a MAN gives the ABSOLUTION!
Confession to a priest is based on the Scriptures and priests are given THE AUTHORITY to forgive! John 20:21-23.
2 Cor 5:18-20.. "All this is from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and has GIVEN US the ministry of reconciliation.... (sacrament of confession) So we are AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST, since God is making His appeal THROUGH US... " ...Further confirmation!
James 5:16.. Therefore, confess your sins to EACH OTHER and pray for each other SO THAT YOU MAY BE HEALED...
...to "each other" means person to person-- a priest represents "each other" in the family of God (Heb 5:1-4). It may not be possible to meet each and everyone to confess, but it is possible to meet a chosen and authorized ambassador of Christ/church/family of God and seek forgiveness of sins...
Plus point:: When you confess your sins and pray, YOU WILL BE HEALED!!!
1 John 1:9.. If we confess our sins, He, who is faithful and just WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness..
Baruch 4:21.. Take courage my children, cry to God, and He WILL deliver you from the power and hand of the enemy.

What is holiness? --specially belonging to God; set apart for God's service; consecrated and separated from the world though in the world...
Consecration is not a foreign concept. It's like the copyright or patent or trademark. Each speaks of ownership, rights of control, special privileges etc. Holiness is exclusivity! Though you are in the world you are not of the world. You belong to the KINGDOM. Have the KINGDOM culture. Be sanctified by the WORD. John 17:14-17.
McDonalds – logo—product, uniform, etc. It is set apart (sanctified) to the corporation. They must always look a certain way, dress a certain way, act a certain way. In the same way, it is forbidden to associate any of the McDonalds products with anybody else's. You won't see a Burger King Whopper served in a McDonalds restaurant. Holiness, in secular terms, is exclusivity. So why should we let the world into the Church? Let the Church have its code and let us follow that.
Society in our day gives more sanctity to a hamburger factory than to the Kingdom of God
Holy life is the backbone of a Christian. The apostle Paul understood that. In the midst of a pagan society that did all it could to persecute Christians and discredit the Christian faith, he wrote to Titus telling him how to instruct the Cretans "to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age" (Titus 2:12).
May the WORD OF GOD become flesh in us like in Mother Mary and bring forth Christ when we interact with people. People who know you but do not know Christ, should get to know Christ because they know you!!
1Pet 1:14-16 - Like obedient children do not be conformed to the desires that you formerly had in ignorance. Instead, as He who called you is holy, be holy yourself in ALL YOUR CONDUCT; for it is written "you shall be holy for I am holy".
Eph 1:4 ..He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world TO BE HOLY AND BLAMELESS BEFORE HIM in love... Holiness is the character of Kingdom people - the Christians.
Heb 12:14-15 - Pursue peace with everyone and (also) holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that NO ROOT OF BITTERNESS springs up and causes trouble and THROUGH IT MANY BECOME DEFILED.

Heb 5:1-4.. Every high priest is selected FROM AMONG MEN and is appointed TO REPRESENT THEM in matters related to God TO OFFER GIFTS AND SACRIFICES FOR SINS. He is able to deal gently with.. That is why he (the priest) has to offer sacrifices (Eucharistic celebration) for his own sins, as well as FOR THE SINS OF THE PEOPLE. 2 Samuel 12:13.. Then David said to Nathan "I have sinned" against the Lord." Nathan replied "The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die..."
These are the similar words when a confession is made to a priest. The sins of David are FIRST thoroughly discussed between these TWO MEN in 12:7-10 (read 12:1 onwards..). David tells a MAN..Finally, Nathan, a MAN gives the ABSOLUTION!
Confession to a priest is based on the Scriptures and priests are given THE AUTHORITY to forgive! John 20:21-23.
2 Cor 5:18-20.. "All this is from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and has GIVEN US the ministry of reconciliation.... (sacrament of confession) So we are AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST, since God is making His appeal THROUGH US... " ...Further confirmation!
James 5:16.. Therefore, confess your sins to EACH OTHER and pray for each other SO THAT YOU MAY BE HEALED...
...to "each other" means person to person-- a priest represents "each other" in the family of God (Heb 5:1-4). It may not be possible to meet each and everyone to confess, but it is possible to meet a chosen and authorized ambassador of Christ/church/family of God and seek forgiveness of sins...
Plus point:: When you confess your sins and pray, YOU WILL BE HEALED!!!
1 John 1:9.. If we confess our sins, He, who is faithful and just WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness..
Baruch 4:21.. Take courage my children, cry to God, and He WILL deliver you from the power and hand of the enemy.
Psalm 115:12-13.. The Lord has been mindful of us; He WILL bless us.... He WILL bless those WHO FEAR THE LORD, both small and great.

Exodus 34:10.. I hereby make a covenant. Before all your people I WILL PERFORM MARVELS such as have not been performed in all the earth or in any nation; and all the people among whom you live, shall see the work of the Lord; for it is AN AWESOME THING that I WILL do with YOU..
Deut 4:31.. Because the Lord your God is a merciful God, He will neither abandon you nor destroy you; He will not forget the covenant with your ancestors that He swore to them.
Deut 31:6.. BE strong and bold; HAVE NO FEAR OR DREAD of them, BECAUSE it is the Lord YOUR God who goes with you; He WILL NOT fail you or forsake you.

Num 23:19.. God is not a human being that he should lie, or a mortal that he should change his mind. Has he promised, and will he not do it? Has he spoken and will he not fulfill it?
