You are the SALT of the Earth

“You are the salt of the world. “  Mt 5:13

We, the children of God, are all qualified to be “salts”  of the earth by THE BIBLE. But why are we compared to salt, in our User Manual?  What do you think are the qualities of salt?
1 ) White colour
This symbolizes purity , being holy and being blameless.
2) It adds flavour to whatever you cook by fully dissolving into it.
Can we mix with people around us, fully dissolving with them?
Can we do good to others , can we add taste to others' life?
3) Salt brings out the taste of the other ingredients
Can we motivate others to demonstrate their flavour or rather talents?
4) Salt is used by beggars and kings and all the religious people
Can we be useful to all kinds of people, without considering caste, colour or creed or wealth or position?
5) Salt is also a preservative. It prevents decay.
Can we prevent people from perversion, corruption, decay, depression, loneliness, etc.?
6) Salt creates thirst.
Can we, as salt, create thirst in others for Jesus, His Word and His Kingdom?

  1. It is hard work to be the Biblical salt, unless you are salted by fire - the Holy Spirit... Mk 9: 49. What prevents you the reader, from being the salt of the earth, which is the role to be played by every child of God? What is the use of the salt which remains in the comfort zone of a salt-shaker (salt dispenser bottle)? Unless the salt is taken out of the dispenser, it can't be used. Will you, the reader come out of the salt-shaker and be the salt of the earth? The Bible says you ARE the salt of the earth... not "you can be" or "you try to be" or "you will be"... You are already classified to be the salt (Eph 1: 3-6)... all you have to do is to get out of your comfort zone of the dispenser and be useful to others... Are you worried about what people will say? Are you pained at losing some of your worldly friends, who will begin to mock you? Then read Mt 10:32-33; 12:30; Mk 8:38... etc... EMEL
